Windows Xp is offically Old
February 21, 2010I think i was one of the first people in my social network to pick up XP and use it to its full potential. Most people hated the look and feel of it. That’s right kids, people didn’t like XP at first. Too resource heavy, everything in the wrong place and networking was too easy. Oh the good old days. But after Vista came out people really understood what needlessly resource heavy and everything in the wrong place meant. So much so that a lot of people (myself included) stayed with Xp, feeling no need to upgrade to vista.
well now that windows 7 has done what vista tried to do, people are more willing to upgrade. this leads me to the problem i find myself in now. XP is fine in every single way. it does the job i want it to, it does it effectively and hassle free. But it doesn’t run DX10. “Pfff who cares” I hear you say. “The only game that requires you to have DX10 is Halo 2 and who plays that on the PC?”. Normally i would agree with you. But now a game worth playing has arrived on the scene that REQUIRES DX10. Shattered Horizon is a game that not only looks sweet, but is having a free weekend on steam. OH SWEET IRONY.
This game looks like it is really pushing boundaries and escaping from the cookie cutter clone games that seem to appear every year. But alas, I shall not be able to play this spectacle. Looks like XP finally has seen its sun set. its windows 7 from here on out.
